Wow, chuck...good detective work. What's my favorite color?

Although, a fair amount of that is out of date. If you wanted to know how I went green, you could have asked me.

update plz

[/ QUOTE ]

For hornacek, who has asked several times and has patiently waited, I will update.

The living arrangement and significant other have changed. (I still have the calico cat.) I'm in process of moving into a small private apartment, and am currently splitting my time between that place, my new job, and my parents' house. (At the time of the original thread, one of the reasons I kept putting off writing this was that all of this was in the process of changing.)

Anyway, I'm no longer with Gil. I have met someone new who is pretty special to me, but we're taking it slow.

I do actually play poker, but I play low. I also used a fairly significant portion of my bankroll for moving expenses, so now I play lower. (Edit: I went through a layoff in March, and finally took a job again in July. I'm now managing an agency office of agents and field underwriters.)

I was made a mod of micro because I was a fairly regular poster for a long time. I never posted huge amounts (I spent most evenings with Gil), but I took over the weekly micro digest, which made me pretty visible, and also made it advantageous to give me green powers. (Bwahhahahahaha....the POWER!!!!!)

In any case, I got modded for micro much like I got modded for POG...because I could be useful. It's not merit-based, or because I'm especially cool.

Anything else anyone is curious about?

What the hell. I guess I can contribute.

My name is Mike. I'm 31 years old, married for two years to a hot little redhead who puts up with my [censored], and I have a ten month old adorable little girl named, Syda. I'll glady post pics. lol

I'm from a rural Chicago area suburb, and I went to school in Missouri. After I graduated college, with a degree in Computer Science, I was commissioned as an officer (cavalry) in the Army. I then spent most of the rest of my time stationed in Germany, and I did a six month stint in Bosnia. I was active duty for 9/11, and I still managed to get out and become a civilian a few months later.

I then moved back home (yeah... fun) for about eight months and had to settle for a retail drug management job. After three years, I finally escaped that living hell and I now have a job with a large insurance carrier. No, I'm not an underwriter, VR, but I deal with you people on a daily basis. I manage large customer accounts. Basically, if you have insurance with us, I'm your HR department's point of contact. It's more involved than that, but that's the short and simple of it.

Anyway, I play poker when I can. I'd like to play more, but I don't have time. I'm generally a 2/4 limit player, and I'm sure most of you would love to have me at your table.

I don't have a whole lot of other hobbies other than playing with my daughter. Every now and then, I'll find time to pick up a book and read. I also do love watching movies. I used to bodybuild in college, and I have a sweet setup in my garage. Unfortunately, it's gathering dust, and I'm gathering weight...

That's about it.

"Sid-uh"

My wife stole the name from "Ya Ya". Sandra Bullock's character was Siddalee. My wife shortened it and changed the spelling. I later suggested Lis (pronounced like Lisa without the "a") for her middle name without having seen the movie. She loved it, and it stuck. I still haven't seen the movie.

post pics of Syda please.

If we get pics of Syda, Mia, dmk's daughter, fnord's kids, and Kyro, we can have a poll on which POGger has the cutest baby!

I'll go.

24 years old, single, living in Colorado. No kids (that I know about!) I grew up outside of Denver waiting tables at Chili's from 16 to graduation of college. I've always been the sarcastic joking class clown type. I pretty much dominate conversations and tell stories when around friends. I generally try to be (and think I am) one of the most interesting people I know. I have stories for days.

In high school I did competitive speech, qualifying for the national tournament. I was pretty smart and was able to take advantage of situations pretty well. I started an extravagant lifestyle here when my parents said I could live without curfew as long as my grades never slipped... thinking they were giving me just enough rope to hang myself with. Well, they never slipped and I started my life of of sleeping 3am to about 7am through high school.

Went to college at Colorado State and started as Comp Sci major as my dad is a programmer. Hated it, withdrew, cheated, etc to get through that terrible semester. Then went back to my high school skills and majored in speech communication. This was a good major for me as most of the classes everyone struggled with (public speaking stuff) but I loved so I coasted through while doing as little work as possible.

I have always been terrible with money and this is when it started. I was perpetually broke. Working at Chili's let me take home cash.. so I would get on the schedule.. and give up every shift I didn't need to go out and party, golf, tennis, whatever. When I was broke I'd keep a shift and work it to get some cash. When I wanted a toy I'd work more and buy something nice.

I started playing poker about 21 in a 25 cent limit game with 2 friends. Not knowing anything we played hold em with just fixed quarter bets on every street. I met some friends at a Qdoba and found out they had a game pretty regularly. I wanted to play thinking I was a hotshot and they wanted me to play because I had no clue. I got my ass kicked for about a month and got pissed. Bought a few 2p2 books and got back at them and have won that game ever since.

After beating that game I sent 50 bucks to party poker and played some 3/6.. got rocked. Deposited another 50 and played 2/4.. same result. Deposited my last 50 (the last amount I deposited into a poker site that was winnings) and played .5/1 and worked my way up to about a 300 dollar bankroll.

I have bad discipline and one night was watching 3/6 6 handed table and found it particularly juicy. I bought in 150 and quadrupled it in a few hours. Told my friends and was off to the races in the poker world (temporarily). I started playing some MTT's and was doing pretty well. About a month before I was graduating I won 6k in a 30 dollar MTT on Party. I put in my two weeks to Chili's the next day figuring I was good until I got a real job. Lacking discipline again I blew most of it spending 3500 on a tv, lots on friends, etc. For 300 bucks a month rent I was living the good life.

I had to take a summer class to graduate so I ended up graduating in mid July. In early July I had a recruiter call me and ask me to interview for Enterprise (Rent-A-Car). I decided I should because although my poker life was seemingly booming I decided my lack of discipline would make it impossible to live on. If I ever had to ask mom for rent she would kill me.

August I started with Enterprise and really enjoyed the job. Being single it was way better than playing online poker a lot.. but the hours were tough. While living in that apartment, though, I continued to live like a king. Pay was great compared to my expenses so I spent a lot of cash on worthless things. Poker became less and less common as work became more and more demanding. Enterprise went well and I have been promoted twice since then.

The following May I decided to buy a house and a car. Again, I spread myself incredibly thing. My payments are realistically more than I make from Enterprise. My house is sweet, I have an '04 Grand Prix which is decent.. but I spent a long time being broke. I would grind away on 10-20 dollar SNG's and 1/2 2/4 tables trying to make enough to withdraw some cash to pay some bills. It worked, my bills are paid, but my lack of discipline completely stalled my poker playing. I am plenty talented.. and crush most games I play.. but am spread too thin to ever build a bankroll. I'm one bad run away from having to actually deposit more than that initial 150.

So here I am.. not long from promotion again.. and in the same situation. I figure after the next promotion all problems will be gone.. I can build a bankroll, have some savings (I do have a good 401k), and not be so strapped for cash, though. In reality, however, I'm sure I will buy my next toy and be perpetually broke again.

(That was probably more than needed to know.. but if you wanna know me there it is).

Other hobbies.. I golf, play tennis when I can, enjoy any type of game.. be it board games (Settlers, Puerto Rico, Caracassone, Citadels, etc) or video games (Warcraft, XBOX, etc).. but I spend most of my time working and going out. I am pretty heavy partier on the weekends and right now am spending my time and money just trying to have fun.

Responsibility will come later I hope.

edit: Oh and for fun trivia.. I was born with 12 fingers... and would give a kidney if it would help the Broncos.
