[ QUOTE ]
The current pending legislation is only seeking to prohibit U.S. credit-card companies from allowing transactions to gaming sites. They can't stop you from playing. Nor is the legislation designed to do that. There is so much unwarranted paranoia going on about this stuff it's ridiculous. Allyn Shulman wrote a very good article analyzing the pending legislation in the latest CardPlayer (might be a week old now). More than a few people would benefit greatly by reading this. Also FWIW - there have been various versions of this kind of legislation dating back to 1995. None of them have passed. This one might have a slightly greater chance than the previous attempts. But the effects wouldn't be nearly as drastic as you seem to think. Some Americans would get scared and stop playing so that would hurt the fishyness of the games somewhat. And it seems a lot of 2+2'ers think they are going to suddenly be throw in jail about it. All it would do pretty much is keep the CC companies from allowing such transactions. Most CC companies are already doing this anyway. The proponents of the legislation just want to get it on the books (and perhaps get the ball rolling towards more drastic legislation...but that would really be a difficult road to go down). [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the quick summary Bob-o. It's getting difficult to find the wheat from the chaff these days. |

There's other legislation being considered separately that would make playing illegal. Your general attitude about this issue is way too cavalier for our own good. |

Question is...If the credit card companies won't allow funding (which also means debit cards), how will the fish fund their accounts. I have doubts that they'll jump through hoops to do this. I really don't want to play if there are few fish.

Credit Card companies already aren't allowing egaming transactions. So the fish who have deposited already are jumping through hoops. They have either setup Neteller or Firepay accounts, used Western Union, or IGMpay on Party.
