I’ve seen a social player lay down kings face up against a miserable nit because he didn’t want to give him any action, then turn around and pay me off with garbage.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds like this "social player" knows his opponents. Maybe a little extreme in the example, but not a bad strategy.

The only big negative is that we were forced to play 10-handed. In the second most important event of the year? Absurd

[/ QUOTE ]

9-handed is fine, but 10-handed is absurd?

Other than that, good report to read.

Thanks for the report. Interesting that you re-read HoH, instead of Kill Phil.

In my opinion, and that of many others, it is absurd. The comfort factor alone is bad enough. These big events are a physical strain, and being crammed into uncomfortable tables for two full days in a major event shows no regard for the players, especially players who pay $500 juice to participate, pay another $750 to the staff, and provide all the prize money and entertainment.

Just as importantly, the play is affected. I never said 9-handed was fine. Personally, I think 7-handed is the best. However, that would require paying a few dozen dealers another $6/hr, so I don't want to ask for too much. Just a little leg and elbow room.

Very interesting read. If you for some reason had to choose between the Championship structure 10-handed or the Bay 101 structure 7-handed, which would you choose?
