Those idiot flyers.... classic post game press conferences tonight, w/ lindy calling the flyers idiots, and then Hitchcock cursing out lindy after his press conference. But seriously I'm sick of the flyers gooning it up, physical play is good, it's what they should do, but gooning it up when down by 5 is dumb. I wrote the following on www.hockeybuzz.com which is a great hockey website. I'm copying and pasting it.

The flyers are clearly going after the sabres, which is exactly what they should be doing, they are a bigger team and should be trying to use their size advantage to wear down a smaller sabres team. I have no problem with finishing checks and having the flyer big D punishing the sabres small forwards in the corners, but stop playing like idiots and play hockey. There is no way they can win giving up 21 PP's in the first 2 games, but I guess if they want to get swept they will keep playing like that.

However Hitchcock had a great press conference directing all the attention on himself and getting it off of his team.

On a side note, how much of this cheap stuff happens if the sabres have an enforcer that actually can play, like a Brashear or Hatcher?

I thought that was a clean open ice hit by Campbell in Game 1. Does anyone believe otherwise? Do the Flyers believe that was a cheap shot worthy of retribution, or is this standard play whenever a teammate gets injured?
