The Colbert report is funnier.
Then again, I don't find JS funny all the time. In particular, I don't like his little high-pitched whining that he likes to do during his monologue. I also think he tends to botch his interviews. Sometimes just by making jokes that bomb, and sometimes by kissing ass too much. I do like his interviews that get hard-hitting though. I think Colbert is a better comedic tallent. I also tend to prefer his interviews, which are faster-paced and often put the guest in silly situations. Some of the skits that he does, such as debating himself, are no good though. |

I was actually just thinking of this and discussed it with a friend. I do feel the Colbert Report has surpassed The Daily Show. He's just a funny guy. His style could get old quick though, I don't watch it every day.

Btw, I haven't seen you around in a while, it's good to see you post again. |

[ QUOTE ]
I think TDS is more consistently funny -- e.g. pretty much money in the bank on any given night -- but when TCR is *on*, it's heads and shoulders better. [/ QUOTE ] I tend to agree, however, I think Colbert's interviews are generally significantly better than Stewart's. That being said, I wish they didn't feel compelled to have a guest every show. I realise it eats a lot of time that's probably a lot easier to write, still, I'd rather they were both more picky about their guests and only had people on when it's really warranted. Maybe 2-3 guests a week, each. |

I think the news coverage on the daily show is stronger, but the colbert interviews are way better than the daily show. I'm extremely impressed with the colbert report in general.

As Kataffy said, Colbert is at his best when he is interviewing. Whether it's the guest or the representative from 'better know a district' his interviews are gold.
OTOH, TDS's interviews suck, but I still think their 'bits' are way better |
