Default Re: Party 500K Flopped Bottom Set, How Can I Play This Better?

Thanks to everyone who replied. Usually with my stack I would have folded the pocket 3's in EP as well and waited for a better hand. But it was a fairly passive table pre-flop, so I figured I'd take a shot.

On the flop I was trying to figure out how to get maximum value from my set, rather than just take down the 1100 chips that were out there.

On the turn, the big blinds bet confused me. With a potential flush draw hitting, I wasn't sure if his bet was an attempt at getting a cheap river card to hit the flush, or if he was already holding the straight or had just hit two pair.

I figured I was way ahead or way behind, so I opted to just call, figuring if the board pairs on the river, I'll be in good shape, and if it doesn't, I may still have the best hand.

That guy value-bet the [censored] out of me. I was just looking to see if anyone would play each street differently. I probably should've just folded pre-flop.

And with so many limpers pre-flop, I should've bet pot on the flop. Then again, I want him chasing that straight draw.

I'm about a 3:1 favorite on the flop against his holding. With 1100 in the pot, I bet 700, so he has to call 700 to win 1800, slightly less than the 3:1 odds he needs.

Unfortunately, the MP player also called the 700, so he then has to call 700 to win 2,500, which is better than 3:1

Now, if I had bet 1100 and the MP player called, the BB would have to call 1100 to win 3300, which is exactly the odds on making his hand.

But, I can't know my opponents holdings or how many players will come along for the ride.

Alright, so I'm guessing my best options are:

1. Fold pre-flop
2. Bet pot on the flop

His river bet just looked like a value bet, but I don't see how I could fold there. I didn't push the turn because I figured I'd get more money out of my opponent on the river, and if I do push the turn, I'm getting called by:

1. two pair
2. pair + flush draw
3. 4/6
4. A/4

I believe most everything else is folding to my push on the turn. I don't want to push out the hands that I have crushed, and I don't want to pay off the hands that have me crushed.
