In broad strokes describe your life before and after prison. How do you feel your incarceration effected you? Positive? Negative? Did you feel rehabilitated or more cynical?

thank you,

How did heroin compare to sex,a cocaine high, and the relief of a delayed urination?

Is the "gang factor" as much of an issue as it is portrayed in movies/books? I.e. the Italians, blacks, muslims, asians, skin heads all have thier own faction within the prison, resulting in a delicate balance of power?

Also, were ass rapes as prevalent as is portrayed in popular media?

How long does it take to inject yourself with ease? Did somebody shoot it for you the first couple of times? Were you nervous the first time shooting it?

Did you feel that prison "rehabilitated" you?

Would you ever go back?

Was it like an all=inclusive vacation?

[/ QUOTE ]

The only thing it did for me is got me to quit smoking weed, because obviously I couldn't (unless I wanted to pay 3 packs of cigarettes for a joint that is so small it wouldn't get me high).

I wouldn't voluntarily go back, but I could handle it. In the thread awhile back about 30 days in jail, or 1 year of house arrest, I voted for the 30 days. I must stress however that jail and prison are two completely different things, and that prison is 10 times better.

I wouldn't call it a vacation, but it was something that I learned alot from, mostly about human nature.

What is the difference between "jail" and "prison"

How does the underground trade economy actually work in prison?

Well, right before prison I was pretty screwed up. I was addicted to heroin for about 2 years. I didn't realize I was addicted for about a year, because I always had some (I traded weed for it, so it didn't cost me anything).

But before I got mixed up in hard drugs, I was an honor's student in high school, but decided to take a break before college. This was the biggest mistake i've ever made.

I kicked heroin while I was on bond awaiting trial, so for the most part I felt pretty rehabilitated before I was locked up.

Do the guards commonly confiscate your money, cigarettes etc.?

Despite what people may say, doing heroin isn't comparable to an orgasm. It's an immediate warm rush through your body that feels really good. I know that basically sounds like an orgasm, but they're two different feelings, and I can't say that one is better than the other. Once you're really dependent on the heroin, you basically just stop feeling sick when you do it, instead of getting high.

It is a downer, so comparing it to cocaine is hard. I shot cocaine too, but not very often because I was a downer kind of person. It was usually cocaine and heroin together in one shot, which is a tremendous feeling. Also, urinating is very hard on heroin, and it feels good when you finally go. It is also hard to ejaculate, much like being very drunk, or high on coke.

The only issue with gangs (at least where I was locked up) was between the bloods/crips. The bloods/crips didn't really mess with the skin head types or the muslim types, but they messed with each other. There wasn't a large population of asians or italians.

To my knowledge, only one person was ass raped the whole time I was locked up.
