This is a check behind. U have a decent draw and showdown equity.
Bet/Fold just turns your hand into a bluff. |

Thanks everyone for the great advice. I think the bet/fold line is a part of my game that I need to work on...
I called. My reasoning was that I thought an ace would have raised PF. I didn't think he could have both an ace and a diamond that beat mine, so I didn't think I could be too far behind if I was behind at all. But I don't think I put enough stock in my shorter-short-stack if I had folded (another part of my game I need to work on). Finally, (as mentioned above--and maybe this is wrong-thinking, too) we were already ITM--so a win here puts me in great position to win the whole thing, and I still get paid if I lose. RESULTS in white Turn was a J, so (results oriented) if I had checked behind, or if villain had played differently, my money would have gone in at this point. River was a brick. Villain had flopped 2-pair with A-4. I'm out in 3rd. |

I might be result oriented, but I check behind on this flop now that I have showdown value + a good draw. [/ QUOTE ] |

I didn't think I could be too far behind if I was behind at all. [/ QUOTE ] (quoting myself.) I guess this also means that I couldn't be too far ahead if I was ahead. Maybe that is the better way to look at situations like this. |
