Yuengling gets way too much love in threads like these. Put it next to any of the good lagers mentioned here - generally the Czech Pilsners, but traditional German lagers are good, too - and it just can't stand up.

The best domestic lager I've had is Great Lakes' Dortmunder Gold, but its brown bottle.

im sorry that yuengling doesn't measure up to your fancy european beer tastes and that you are a communist, when will people like you learn that communism is a fundamentally flawed system of government that has been proven to not work by our economic domination of the USSR?

lol

Franziskaner is a good one. They're owned by the same people that own Spaten, so maybe they're using the same bottles. Those bottles are a much darker green than something like the Dos XX bottles, right?

Yeah, but I can't get these other beers for $14.99/case cold like I can Yuengling.

Matty - good call on the Moosehead.

Here's another tasty clear bottle variety:

Completely unrelated, but I've been drinking the hell out of this lately.

Yuengling is one, and another regional beer is Straub. The green bottle Straub's have no preservatives, so as long as it's somewhat fresh, it's good.
