I agree w/ everything except the raise amount. raising to 12 gives him approx 3-1 to call, you are pricing him in. I think the over bet is 1 spade unless he is getting tricky, so I want to take it down before another card hits. Given the stack, I guess I'm pushing here.

(Original poster--what's the avg. stack?)

I push. If he has the nut flush, I spike a boat or quads on the turn or river. Next hand.

If he doesn't have a big flush it will make him very, very nervous and could buy you a free river card if you want it.

This is insanely illogical.

Yes, now that you mention it, it is.

I was thinking about it in terms of pot control, more than taking a free card. I just made my point badly. With stacks this deep, I think I take advantave of position. Call here, and see what he does on the turn. I think a lot of players will check the turn, and give you the option of betting to take down the pot, or checking behind to keep the pot relatively small.

Then again I [censored] the dog this way when I flopped a set, and didn't have the discipline to lay it down when the flush got there. I'm a donkey.

Okay, call here. If the turn is not a spade, raise it up.

I suck.
