If NBC did it in advance without the players present, the players would fear that it was rigged. This way, it's out in the open, in front of the media and the players. Make sense?

The tournament room has more than enough room for 32 heads-up tables. I was at Caesars Palace today and the tournament room was closed off. I assumed the room was already being prepared for the weekend's events. They built that large tournament room for these kinds of things. Why wouldn't they use it?

[/ QUOTE ] I meant that they wouldnt use the "actual" poker room. Don't know about the tournament room. Remember, they need room for an audience, cameras, etc. Headed out to Vegas tonight for the event.
