Well Villain can't be calling the three-bet for set value or other implied odds because Hero is too short. So he has a premium hand, and you don't beat many of those, and the ones you beat will likely be real reluctant to bet. So just try to get to a cheap showdown unless you improve.

Various lines accomplish that, but checking the flop is a real good start.

I dpn't mind a c/c here at all

do you not have any stats on him at all?

[/ QUOTE ]

None.

So we check, he bets $11 into the $29 pot. We call.

Turn: 5d

Now what?

[/ QUOTE ]

Continue trying to get to a cheap showdown, with some potential outs as well. So c/c another donkbet, c/f otherwise, or just c/f to anything if your spidey sense says he's got you crushed and is extracting.

check flop. bet turn if opponent checks behind on flop. i want to get this pot under control and not have to play for stacks here.

I don't see how you can not have the best hand here. I would bet $24/call shove, shove turn if he calls on any card.

I mean you'd bet this flop with 77 or 65s, right?

why would you bet the only hands that are calling are better than yours. You could be putting money into a pot drawing to a split, which might be unlikely in a reraised pot but considering he's in position not out of the question.

you really need reads here but without them c/c is probably best.

on the turn you will have to decide whether he has it or not. if he does you c/f. if not, crai.

i have no idea why anyone would say leading out here is bad. you flopped a good hand, gutter redraw, and backdoor flush draw. i bet this all day and I'd bet alot. Like $26 on the flop. See how much he likes his hand.

c/c leaves you completely in the dark. if he bets, you dunno if he's betting because you showed weakness, or if the flop just hit him over the face, or if he just thinks 2nd pair might be good and he's getting value.

if we're playing AQ this way on this flop, why are we even bothering to 3bet it preflop? this was a button raise, his range is rather wide here. bet your damn hand.
