Re: Tricky hand in 400 NL at Commerce, facing crazy overbet
I would have been the aggressor on the flop here. You are ahead of most hand, you have two kings, including the Kc, even if you are up against kooky stuff like J10 and 109 you are in pretty good shape and you can attain control of the pot. A pot sized bet would work fine here. If he pushes, you call, because you have tons of outs and you have a pretty good shot at him flipping over two pair (15 outs), QQ (big lead), AcJx, or at the very worst a set, though even then you are drawing well. By checking the flop, you give him a read and total control of the hand if a total rag hits on the turn. You have position on him - use it on the flop, gain control of the pot.
If your facial expression matched the tone of this post, then he knew exactly what you were thinking after you checked the flop. It's possible that he hit a set and, based on your flop check, wants you the hell out of here now that you don't have any odds to call. Or, he knows he can take you off this hand. Totally read dependent, if you ask me. But at 1500 to 1300, judging from how the hand's played, it looks like he knows what you have and I'm not sure he risks that much without knowing more about you (e.g., can this guy really lay down AA - QQ).
