Have the antes kicked in yet? They don't seem like much this early but they do help swing the math in your favor. If you do make the call pre-flop (which I think you should given your stack, you need to have a plan as to whether you will stack off if you flop top pair. If you plan to stack off here you need to just open shove the flop and give your opponent a chance to fold, which isn't that likely but definitely more likely if you open jam instead of checking and making him put even more of his stack in the pot at which time he has to call with any 2 overs. I always call pf and stack off on this flop and feel kind of stupid when they show me AA.
