I don't think you guys quite understand.
Are there better players out there than Barbara Enright. Of course. Lots of them? yes. The point is, she's a woman and with the game today, it's time a woman was in the hall of fame. Does that mean you should put someone like Jennifer Harman in? (or whoever else you think is way better, male or female) No, Barabara Enright was playing poker back in the 80's, She's the only woman to final table the main event. She does have a big tournament history and she does have three bracelets - one of them in an open field. Of course it was time for the WSOP hall of fame to induct a female player, and Barbara Enright is the logical choice. All the better players, both male and female can get inducted in the future. And for those who don't, too bad. You weren't a woman playing high stakes poker for the last 25 years. A feat which deserves some recognition. This is good for poker guys. |

I was playing 10-20 limit hold 'em with Barbara last Saturday night at the Mirage. In one hand, she decided to intimidate me.
I open-raised in MP and she 3-bet me out of the blinds making the hand heads-up. She announced before the flop that she was check-raising. The flop came Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet and she check-raised me. I 3-bet and she 4-bet. I called. Before the turn card was dealt, she announced another check-raise The turn was a 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] She checked and I bet. But, she slowed down this time and just called. The river was a T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] She checked, I bet, and she called. It was sort of an easy hand for me to play with my J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Barbara didn't show. She did complain a bit about never being invited to the WPT Ladie's Invitational. Apparently, she's tried to get on every year and has been refused. |

she's been on a tear lately 2 [/ QUOTE ] When I played with her at the Mirage, she flopped top set four times and got action every time (including from my AK against her KK). |

Sorry to quote my own article, but it seemed relevant.
espn "Shapiro detailed the bullet points of Enright's career. She was the first woman to win the ladies event at the World Series of Poker twice, taking the title first in 1986, then in 1994. The '94 win culminated what may have been the strongest two-year stretch any woman has enjoyed in tournament play. The next year, Enright became the first (and thus far, only) woman to make the final table of the main event, only getting knocked out when Brent Carter's 6-3 off-suit felled her pocket queens. The year after that, she became the first woman to win an open-event bracelet." |

I doubt she is winner overall. When I have played with her, she was losing and throwing off someone else's money.

Barbara Enright? You've got to be kidding me. She can't beat a 20-40 game.
