You should have told him to hide the keys in the yogurt. Nobody would look in there.
Other than that it's what NT! said. How can you not have a lock for your locker at a public gym, epsecially in this neighborhood? Also - address on the keys? WTF? Seriously i would have pissed in this guys yogurt months ago. At least buy several of these yogurts and ask him to mix them for you. Who the [censored] puts their ADDRESS on their KEYS!? If you are that scared of losing them put like a contact number on it. Does he write his pin number on his debit cards? |

so I'm confused, random guy starts changing right next to you when there's plenty of open room in the locker, this raises red flags to you because you think he's going to steal your stuff, and then his stuff ends up getting stolen? [/ QUOTE ] he's telling the story as a hypothetical - what if you were there turns out his friend noticed all of these things but didn't do anything. suing the gym is pure lol. |

guids,
At least at my gym leaving stuff in lockers >>>> leaving stuff in the car, even though it's a decent enough part of town. Lots of break-ins in the lot over the years regardless, no doubt because thieves camp in a car and watch people go in - if they're not carrying valuables such as wallet, phone, etc. they can guess they're in the vehicle. After all, they drove there, and they're not likely to drive without their driver's license, which will typically be found in a wallet or a purse. That actually happened to me about ten years ago in broad daylight on a summer afternoon at the peak time at the gym. It was suspected that the thieves wrapped a towel around a large rock to dampen the sound of the window breaking. Nothing was visible but as mentioned they probably saw me walk in with nothing. Also, our gym has a couple of banks of safe deposit lockers, which I don't bother with because I already have my own personal locker just so I don't have to carry a key around. Anyway, my gym is pretty nice but still there was a scam running there years ago where the thief would apparently spot someone putting their stuff in their locker, then would crack the lock while they were working out. But here's the thing: the thief would only remove a single credit card and then lock the locker, so it could take days for the person to figure out it had been stolen - usually when the CC company called asking about suspicious activity. Guys I know were fleeced for thousands this way, but luckily weren't liable for the charges. |
