Syncmaster, perhaps I have read your post incorrectly, but when you say you are staying by the ballpark, I assume you mean the Royals/Chiefs complex?

That is in Independence, a southeast suburb. The casinos are north of the downtown area on the other side of the river. Not sure how you would get there without a car.

if transportation is a problem they have metro buses that run from the sports complex to harrahs just not sure when, also from the airport to harrahs...
