[ QUOTE ]
Also, the "going the wrong way up a parking aisle with slanted spots and backing in" is a fine manoever, though it is funny to watch people who go the wrong way and try to go in forward. [/ QUOTE ] oh, this is so very true. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] It depends. My standard play is to go in forward, but if it's tight, I might have to back it in. [/ QUOTE ] I don't understand. It's easier to back out into a big open space than to back into a small tight space. [/ QUOTE ] I'm talking when it's too tight to pull in forward without prairie dogging it. |

Standard is headfirst, but I probably back in more than most people.

I try to find the 2 empty spots at work so I can drive through to the back spot. So I guess head first.

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Most people who back in lose time. It is easier (and quicker) to back out of a spot than to back in, and about the same time to pull in forward or leave forward. [/ QUOTE ] this is only true if you suck at backing up, like most women. that being said, i pull straight in at home, and back in at work. [/ QUOTE ] I would say most people suck at this. There are those who don't, and they only lose the time it takes to pull past the spot and hit reverse. Those people don't bug me. Also, the "going the wrong way up a parking aisle with slanted spots and backing in" is a fine manoever, though it is funny to watch people who go the wrong way and try to go in forward. [/ QUOTE ] The biggest potential downside to going past and then backing in is if you allow someone to come in from behind you and steal the spot. I love my compact car - it allows me to fit into damn near any parking space going the right way or the wrong way. I park wherever the hell I damn well please. |

[ QUOTE ]
Generally backing in. That way if there is ever a starter problem or whatever it is easier to get under the vehicle. [/ QUOTE ] If this really is a concern, there are jumper cables long enough to reach as long as you're not driving a pick-up or some other super long vehicle. |

In this case, then I guess I'm going to suggest that if this is such a problem, they do have places where you can buy a new car. |
