that norway guy is the owner and creator lol [/ QUOTE ] Correct, the same as Rakerebate.net. He sold it and bought it back a couple of years ago from what I understand. I'm guessing there is a DNS problem. |

The weird thing is though, it was working the other day right? Usually when a domain expires, it takes like a month or two before someone else can buy it, I remember letting one expire and it went past a few weeks so I had to pay an extra $75 "redemption fee" or something on top of the price. So I wonder if that page showing is the registrar and they can still renew it, or if something weird happened. [/ QUOTE ] exactly what happened to me too -- usually your hosting plan or registrar will put up a "dummy" page of their own for a week or two after it expires during which u can still save the site for yourself before it can be swiped by someone else. give it a few days. |

I ran a whois, that's not the registrar man, it's some guy. It doesn't take a month or two, it's a one-day thing. I wonder if they will buy the domain back or maybe set it up somewhere else, I had too many hands posted! [/ QUOTE ] You're wrong. After a domain expires it goes into a 40 day grace period where the original owner still can renew it before it goes back on the orginal market. Even after the 40 days, it goes into a "deletion" mode and can actually be up to 75 days after expiration before anybody else can buy it. Most likely what happened is he had it registered with registerfly.com who is currently being shut down by ICANN and nobody can renew their domains there. It's a long story and a real mess. Most likely he won't be able to have that domain name for a few months, if that. |
