The one time I sat in the 10-20 at Horseshoe reminded me a lot of the old pre-6 max and pre-UIGEA Party 2-4 games. People basically playing "correctly", but so much so that they might as well have been playing with their hole cards face-up. This game was also peppered with enough clueless people that made it quite profitable.

One thing that I have noticed about the 1-2 NL games in both Tunica and Biloxi: From a theoretical/bankroll standpoint, you might as well call them 2-5 NL games. Preflop raises are usually around $20, the average stacks are around $500 (with many four-digit stacks), and the amount of bets postflop is more representative of a 2-5 game. Needless to say, most of the games are uncapped buy-ins. The Hollywood in Tunica does have a $200 cap on its 1-2 NL game, but it is an absolute nitfest.

Default Oversized Action?

The same thing happened to me when I played 2-5 NL at Golden Moon in Philadelphia. From the initial raise to the river, the action was 5-10 NL sized. Was this a fluke or common for the region?

If you want a good 2-5NL game go over to the Grand.

MMMM Good.

Very common for the Tunica area. In a 1/2NL game a raise of 3x-4x the BB will get you called by everybody at the table. If you are dealt AA in just about any position & bet $6...expect to have them aces cracked. A $12 bet isn't much better. But, if you bet $15 or more, you'll win the blinds a majority of the time with no action. There seems to be a preflop bet threshold of 3 or more red chips that folks just have a hard time calling. There are always exceptions to the rule though.

1-2, 2-5 NL uncapped is not excatly easy. The 10-20 at the shoe is full of regular players. Easy game but it may break up.

slight thread hijack, has the comp policy at HS changed? I stopped by this weekend and was told I could only get a comp at the snack bar. Thats what I wanted anyway so I didn't say anything but afterwards I was wondering what happened to the buffet comps since that's what I usually get. I wasn't seated in a game yet if that matters.

Interesting. I would like to know if there's been a change in policy too.

Getting a buffet comp at the Gold Strike isn't an automatic deal all the time, especially on Friday-seafood night.

But I always assumed it was 'show up and ask' at the Horseshoe...so when I'm really starving upon my arrival in Tunica that will sometimes be enough to bring my play to that room over Gold Strike.

The H'shoe snack bar must have pretty decent food. Seems like everytime I go in there, it has a crowd.

The Grand has good action these days? When I was there a few years ago it was dead.
