[ QUOTE ]
i felt weird about him after the AA hand with him. [/ QUOTE ] What? You don't like playing in position with slightly erratic players who probably lean towards passive but can make a wierd raise from time to time. With the 99 hand, I build the pot and let it tell me what to do in position. Capvin position and call down if he re-takes the lead. You can decide on the turn if you want to check it through if he doesn't re-take it. Really basic stuff |

[ QUOTE ] Think I'd rather raise the flop or just fold any turn instead of call & call a non A/K turn. [/ QUOTE ] i felt weird about him after the AA hand with him. i didn't want to put more bets in than i needed to to showdown. Results to the fun bonus hand: I was pumping a one outer and button had A3. SB had KsTs and MP had 44. [/ QUOTE ] gotta love sb's river call. |

99 hand = standard no?
Youre ahead of AJ (which has a 10 outs) and randomness only You may be able to fold out JJ/TT to a raise but it sure it aint worth it. Im considering the fact the sample size is small so the "randomness" elemnt increases a bit, but not nearly enough. pre-flop capping im indifferent to without a read. Probabily leaning towards capping On the flop, a plan of calling down allows you to get value from AK/AJ from a river check. Avoids you ever folding the best hand to counter agression, gives you a shot at hitting your 2 outer on the river and gains the most from AK/AJ (while loses the most to hands your behind) It also allows you to get away from a A,K turn/river cheaply. I hate raising for information against a relative unknown. If they happen to be spazzy you fold the best hand and lose oppurtunity to have made a decent amount of money when they bluff it off at you. You only really save a SB by raising for information (assuming they c/r turn and not 3-bet flop) and fold out AJ incorrectly on the turn. A river bet for value after raising the flop is near break even because AK = 16 , JJ/TT = 12 combos, but AK wont always call. Against a predictable TAG who likes to 3-bet flops on dry boards (an obscure read) would be the only way Id want to raise 99 here. The bonus hand is sick.. Imagine if you hit your 1 outer on the river? Probabily capped 3 way followed by swearing , cursing , death threats and suicides all while you laugh like a maniac |
