Not trying to hijack thread, but I find it amazing that people can play lots of NL tables. It totally screws up my game. I could probably play 2, but I wouldn't enjoy it much. I can play 4 tables of shorthand limit pretty comfortably. I'm wondering what the highest NL stakes you can get away with multitabling at is. I mean, do people 8-table NL 400? Arn't your reads just going to go down the tube? [/ QUOTE ] play 100k hands and report back |

[/ QUOTE ] People 8 table 2000NL ... it is a habit more than anything, you start of with one table, then add another and before you know it, you are 4 tabling ... and it goes on. Amazingly enough, you are still reading fairly well with 8 tables. You just quickly put people into boxes and then concentrate on the players you find as being good. But then again I'm an ex sng donk, some of us (not me) 20-40 table. Seriously ... no kidding. |

I'm actually way, way better the more tables I play. I remember more, I am forced to concentrate. If it's anything less than 6 tables I'm on 2p2.

1) I am a hobby player, not making a living off of poker so the limits don't matter so much
2) Comfort level - the downswings at higher limits make me want to throw things, which really detracts from the enjoyment of poker as a hobby 3) Skill level needs boosting |

I used to have trouble playing one table
Then I was OK with one, but two gave me trouble. Now I can play two, but 3 gives me trouble. I only play 10-12 hours a week, so it just doesn't add up to that many hands. Progress is slow and steady. I just play for fun, so I'm fine with that. I have a real job. I'm happy to share whatever I've figured out or learned about this game. Maybe next year I'll be playing 200NL. Whatever. As long as I'm playing good, I don't care. |

Why? Because I can afford it to lose say $400, $800 is too much for me to lose though.
I cashed out a bit, and bought some new computer parts/lcd tv/vacation. But will probably be back at 100nl at the end of this month. 100nl isn't twice as profitable as 50nl though, people seem to be better at 100nl, and I like playing at 50nl more because of the fact that I find losing at 100nl to be more stressful then losing at 50nl. |

bankroll and tilt issues [/ QUOTE ] this, plus for me it's my only income ATM and I'm not playing enough to make any surplus bankroll after paying my monthly bills. I plan on changing that this month. Poker gets me in a very tense physical and mental state, which makes it pretty hard for me to make myself sit down and play for hours at a time. I need to play higher stakes so I can play fewer hours per day, but I'm never gonna get there unless I play a ton of hours to build a roll. |
