Have vs. of: (this one's a new one for me, but it's really, really, really bad...)
Right: "I should have raised there!"
Wrong: "I should of raised there!"

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm. So when would you say "should of" done something?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think it's ever grammatically correct.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not, it's just a poor interpretation of "should've"

It's not an easy word to spell
no one checks over their posts before they submit
no one cares
some people are bad at spelling
they don't have spell check on their fire fox

A lot of reasons I guess.

Um, never. It's never correct.

Also:

When you dominate someone, you are dominant, not 'dominate.'

It's ridiculous, not 'rediculous.'

When you lose weight, it makes your pants loose.

Is grammar (not 'grammer') important? Definitely (not 'definately').

OK - I know that these message boards are designed for poker, and that poker players are more inclined to know how to add rather than how to write, but I'm starting to get really annoyed with what I'm seeing.

[/ QUOTE ]

You should break this up into multiple sentences. 2nd grade english error.

[ QUOTE ]

So here are a handful of the most common mistakes that I'm seeing on these boards.

[/ QUOTE ]

You should not start a sentence with a proposition.

[ QUOTE ]
If ever you're (NOT YOUR!) unsure about something, come back to this thread...

[/ QUOTE ]
You have used too many periods at the end of this sentence.

[ QUOTE ]
There = A place.

[/ QUOTE ]
This is not a sentence

[ QUOTE ]
(this one's a new one for me, but it's really, really, really bad...)

[/ QUOTE ]

too many repitions of really

[ QUOTE ]

Irony is a literary or rhetorical device, in which there is a gap or incongruity between what a speaker or a writer says, and what is generally understood. Generally there is an element of humour, stemming from the onlooker's perception of paradox.

[/ QUOTE ]
You did not site your source.

[ QUOTE ]
But it's not ironic.

[/ QUOTE ]
You should not start a sentence with a preposition.

[ QUOTE ]

Please, add to this list... Sticky it... Next time somebody makes a 2nd grade English error, point them here...

[/ QUOTE ]

This is not a sentence.

Like 10,000 spoons.

I just can not comprehend the amount of nit that someone would have to have to post something like the OP did. This is a message board, who give a flying [censored]?
