CDC told me a hand:

HU on the river at a 100/200 game at Bay 101.

Final board is AAAJx. They go 35 bets on the river until one guy is felted. 35 bets. And they don't do it all at once, it's raise-raise-raise-raise, etc.

That's bad enough, because you know there's only 1 more A left in the deck. So it's either misdeal/setup time or one of the guys really really sucks at pokerz.

And indeed, one player had the quads, the other guy showed KJ for "nut boat!" Evidently the KJ guy was surprised to see he was up against quads. His justification: "Well he bluffs a lot."

I figure that if I'm still laughing a minute after reading this it should be acknowledged as one of the worst played hands of all time.

I'll toss in another from my NYC days:

6 ways pf w/ me raising the button w/ AA. I flop quads. It gets back to me capped! Same thing on the turn! I didn't get to put in a raise until the river.

How could it get much worse than that?

Going from memory:

15-30 at Hustler a few years ago. 7 ways pf for 3 bets (I'm out of the hand). Flop something like 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 7 ways again, capped. Turn: another [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], I don't remember what, and they ALL had to check!!!!!River blank and A-9o won the pot.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't see how someone in the hand made a really bad play here.

You got the turn action slightly wrong. It was checked to the button and he bet, then it went raise and 3bet back to him and he insta-4bet.

Also I don't remember exactly what happened, but there was more flop action, I think 4 bets went in somehow.

The guy was sitting next to me and he had showed me his hand on the flop, so I had to sit there and cringe as this bloodbath was going on. After the hand he kept saying things to me like, "nothing I could do," and, "the worst thing was they were both raising."

PJ,

That story is awesome. Reminds me of Joe Tall's 23 bets on the turn with the nut straight versus the 3rd nut straight.

On the small, off-chance that you are not joking don't you suppose that one out of the 7 should be on the flush draw w/ capped flop betting? Or, at the least, one had flopped a set, st8 or at least 2 pair? A9o won the pot w/ that action?

Clearly everyone in the game sucks, but I don't see how anyone of them could have played their hand remotely as badly as putting in 10 big bets on the big streets with one pair against two opponents.

Of course that guy's play was horrible but it's only the ONE guy and at least he had top pair and a str8 draw. OP is titled 'Worst play I've ever seen'. The hand I layed out has 7 players screwing up for capped betting.

but it's only capped betting on the flop, plus it's only 4 bet cap in LA. your hand is unremarkable howard. the hand jade posted is painful to read, although it's the river that's the most painful, the rest is just awful player drawing almost dead. there are worse plays to be sure, ill be on the lookout.

the other night playing 3 handed limit locally it was the turn and i had QT and the board was J98x and the other guy wanted to get his last 8 bets in so i obliged. he had J9.
