[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Not an ATS winner, but I once had a baseball over bet cover 7.5 runs before the opposing team ever recorded an out in the top of the 1st. [/ QUOTE ] I would love to see proof of this. I think it is impossible. [/ QUOTE ] It was a game from early 90's, I know it was when I was in Law School, so it would have to be sometime between 90 and 93. I want to say 91, but 15 years is a long time ago. I want to say the pitcher was Dave Stewart that got pounded, but I can't recall exactly. I also seem to recall that either Hentgen or maybe Stottlmyre was the opposing pitcher. Everyone thought it was one of those 7.5 type totals. I think Stewart gave up 9 in the first inning. And from what I can remember he really didn't pitch that badly. Seems like he gave up 2 or 3 walks, a couple reached on errors, 3 or 4 hits and a grand slam. It happened in the blink of an eye. Funny thing is, I don't think he gave up maybe 1 or 2 more runs the rest of the game. |

Seems totally reasonable. I remember the Phils scoring 8-9 runs in the first v Braves a few years back in a low totaled game, and Braves had at least 2-3, iirc.
On a different note, I went to a Schilling v Maddux game at the Vet back then...game took 1hr, 41 mins. Crazy. You went to the bathroom you missed 2ip. |
