I ran into quads 2 times in a little over an hour 4 (!) tabling at partypoker.
I was behind in the first one but the second runner runner was a little more painfull Yeah, but still february will be a good month. I sure hope I got my pair of quads and runner runners for today. ***** Hand History for Game 5633798449 ***** $50 NL Texas Hold'em - Thursday, February 01, 05:18:40 ET 2007 Table Table 127046 (Real Money) Seat 5 is the button Total number of players : 9 Seat 2: minute_man1 ( $16.10 ) Seat 5: bandbutthead ( $9.85 ) Seat 7: funnmaker ( $47.50 ) Seat 8: Mawi1309 ( $11.45 ) Seat 9: tf20061 ( $85.45 ) Seat 10: toto295 ( $30.92 ) Seat 4: Apollo_BE ( $41.75 ) Seat 1: zeus_omnipot ( $30.30 ) Seat 3: FightDuke ( $10 ) funnmaker posts small blind [$0.25]. Last month, I made a bet w/ my friend Onaflag that I would play 20,000 hands for the month of January online. I'm sure that sounds simple to most of you, but I've been playing live poker for most of my short career(I guess that's what you can call it), and I'd estimate that over the course of last year in the roughly 14,000 hrs of live poker I played, I probably was only dealt somewhere around 40,000 hands total. So to basically do half of my whole year in a month was a bit more than I was ready for.
I've read about it here, but I really don't know how you guys can maintain the grind of multitabling online poker. I started out the first week playing two tables of 25NL, and by the end of the week I added a third table as I got comfortable. I was cruising along playing a 1000 hands a day, and was on pace to make my goal of 20000 hands by the end of the month. Then burnout, and disenchantment with the stakes set in at about 10000 hands at the beginning of the 3rd week of the month. I played another 2000 hands over the week, got bored, and decided to throw in the towel. Screw the bet. I would go play live(I have a deal worked out with the cardroom owner for a form of rakeback where I get a set amount of my drop back per hour), and I would use that payment at the end of the month to pay off my bet. And that's what I did. Now eventhough I lost the bet(100 bucks, which is 4 buyins, for my online stakes, but half a buyin for my live stakes) I feel I gained from it. I got some valuable experience playing online poker, as well as the money I won, and I am much more comfortable with the game then I was before. Also during those few weeks I was playing to reach my goal my eyes were opened, and I'm improving my work ethic, something I am sorley lacking. As evidenced by my decision to quit. So this month I'm going back to mainly live play. There I will be playing 200 NL. Unfortunately the local B&M only spreads NL on Sun. and Mon. So I will be mixing in the 3/5 uncapped buyin game a couple towns over as well. However, I will most likely be shortstacking that game starting with 50bb buyins until my roll is a bit more adequate, and I can buyin full, and it wont be such a significant portion of my roll. I will continue playing 25NL online, and working on building my online bankroll as well. While hopefully becoming better at multitabling. If you bothered reading through this thanks, and Good luck this month to all the grindhouse playas. |

Read it all and gl with it (would like to play live myself butno cardrooms here).
This next one is also a sick hand. I reraised him but didnt put him allin completely. Now with that flop you just know youre beat but cant fold for set value and because, well he might have aces But actually you just know its 5$ down the drain. I didnt start february too good as you can tell villain has 120 hands and 10.0/1.9 So pretty sure (let say 95%) he has kings or aces here. i just hate talkin stradegy at the table. the others who have no concept of it might realize that they are a fish for not knowing what you are talkin about and leave, or worse go study and come back. i always maintain that poker is strictly a game of fun and luck to me. that keeps everyone comfortable. and if someone puts a beat on me i congradulate them for a hand well played(always mentioning that they had outs to reassure them it was ok to be a donkey..

I'm with daladiesman on this one. I absolutely hate strategy talk at the table. I put it up there with, "hey you on 2+2/Cardrunners?"

As an aside...these FTP FR tables are just FILLED with trash talk. Good lord. |
