or allowing an option like "choose your time zone"

Considered it. But with scheduled tournaments it becomes a nightmare. The website, emails and CS inquiries would make the players confused. If you had your clock on GMT and the tournaments were listed in EST, it would only cause you a headache.
There might be a better solution and we will look for it.

WTF is all that about? Stop making me add 5 hours to every tournament start time.

Already

Mackem, Our largest market is still Canada, and South America is a strong emerging market. Both of them are on "USA time".
We have talked about going to GMT, or something else, maybe we will down the road.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ah, hello Mike, I didn't realise you still posted here and such a quick reply too.

Canada is a larger market than the whole of Europe?

Thanks

[/ QUOTE ]

No, it isnt, but it is the largest single country. Had we not had a large presence in the timezone that we are currently set to (eastern) we would have changed immediately. But since there were a large number of players still in that timezone (and surrounding) we decided to leave it as is and investigate further to see how we could change/improve it.

my tip to party: allow tourneys to count towards clearing bonuses.

we pay rake too! (quite high levels, too!)

Why doesn't PartyGaming make itself a privately-held corporation, so that it can accept US players again? It seems like the most effective solution to a lot of problems.

i wanted to get that last post in so that mike O sees it.

but in greater detail, it would be great if bonuses were cleared by earning a certain number of PP points, for example.

I play a large volume of SNG tourneys on your site (i think i've paid something like $3k in rake in the last 3 weeks) and it annoys me that I am not eligible for deposit bonuses.

This makes no sense to me - as far as I can think of, there's no logical reason from PP's view to not pay SNG players deposit bonuses the same bonuses they pay cash game players.

Once upon a time, I vaguely remember an email from PP saying that they were going to move towards clearing bonuses based upon PartyPoints, but it has never happened.

Hours?

What about dollar$ ?

[/ QUOTE ]

We (PartyGaming products) have multi-currency coming out soon, but for the most part poker will remain $USD. Breaking up the players into different currencies in poker would just dilute the games. So for now we will stick with one currency, and our super sleuth research has identified the $USD as the most recognized and trusted currency in the world.

Enjoy !

Hey, I miss Party, are you going to allow US players to play on Party any time soon?

Cheers for the reply Mike. Just having a moan because I've had a few beers and missed my tournament because my pissed brain miscalced the start time.

If the reason for keeping the timezone is to build up the player database with South Americans and it is working then I suppose I'm all for it.

You don't post for 3 months and then you show up in a thread about time zones? Great job Mike!
