Because home games are included I would say 80% or so. Games played for dollar stakes or more, probably 90% holdem. I don't know what % of hands played are online though.

Here is an interesting fact: At the Tunica World Championships, The HORSE event (which should be the ultimate in playing mixed games), when the final table was formed the format then changed, and they played nothing but NL Hold 'Em. So the 9th to 1st player's skill in playing a mixed game format was determined by Hold 'Em, your skills in ohmaha, stud, etc., just got you to the final.

[ QUOTE ]
Hi. Not sure where to ask this. In your opinion, what percentage of all hands of poker played on earth these days is some form of hold'em? This means all hands of poker on the internet, B&M, cash games, tournies, and home games. Out of every 100 hands, how many are hold'em? I would guess 95%. Do you think that's close? The reason I'm asking is so that I can write in an essay, "The smartest people in the world told me it was such and such percent." Thanks, Tommy [/ QUOTE ] IMO, based on some analysis of ring games, roughly... 60% NLHE, 30% LHE, 5% PLOM, 5% Other (including PLHE, and other forms of Omaha, etc). |

Are you talking Limit, No-limit, Pot-limit? There are different games, you know....hehe
The speed of online poker and Hold'em and popularity of Hold'em makes this number above 90%. This is coming from a player who played 10k/hands of Stud this month. |

My vote doesn't count since I'm not among the smartest people in the word, but, 90%.
