(assclown)

also, i disagree with katrina and monica being ruined. i've actually never even thought for one second about those names.

in order for names to be ruined, the name has to be unique and very identifiable with the person who "ruined it." but then for it to even matter, the name has to be pretty common. this doesn't happen often.

like george bush is an idiot, but did he ruin george? no. you don't associate george with george bush.

hitler was obviously bad, but does it matter that people can't name their children adolf? no, not here. i'm sure as RDH mentioned this was a good example in germany.

kramer is a decent example. i can't think of any other ones.

'Saddam' seems to be an extremely common name in the middle east, probably no problem over there but not so much if you end up in America

All the Katrinas I've met have been gargoyles, so if I have a daughter, that's the last name I'd be giving her.

[/ QUOTE ]

It would be much easier on her if you just used your own last name. Speaking of which, I have an addition to the list:

Elaine

yeeeears ago on oprah (yeah i know) was a girl in her mid 20s w/ the name Monica Lewinsky during the scandal.

she was talking about how horrible things had been for her in the last year and everyone thought they were comedian that she'd run in to.
