MGM is my LV fav. Dealer's have to be pleasant. Wait around long enough and you will see most of them PLAYING when they can. If you don't recognize them, they are the ones tipping the dealers $5 on a $20 pot. lol. Fortunately, most aren't that good as players.
But for soft pleasant low limit games, MGM and Bally's. Excal for 5am when no one else can fill a table. |

Give the front desk agent a tip for a upgrade to Paradise tower room OR check your bags with the bellman, go play poker and checkin late, after Midnight or so and the only room available will be the Paradise rooms. I always book the garden rooms for the lowest rate and always stayed in the Paradise room, which are quite acceptable.
As far as the Poker room goes, the room is small but with friendly staff and friendly people to play poker with, and always have a blast playing poker. |

[ QUOTE ]
Go to the Trop room between 6pm and 2am from Wed-Sun and see Terry, tell him I sent you (yeah, say "52s from 2+2", he knows who it is). Terry's unofficially taken over the room, and is doing things to make it a much more player-friendly room, and have it be a fun atmosphere where tourists can come and get their drink on, and make big splashy pots in the 1/2. Wants it to be laid-back, and is looking for the clientele that'll oblige, i.e. he's hoping the POS grumpy locals faze themselves out, he wants it to be a tourist joint. Usually at night there'll be 1-2, rarely 3 1/2NL games going, $$$ on table depends, but like most 1/2NL in town, the $$$'s there for the taking. The room is a very, very simple small room (right now, before the construction starts), but Terry and the crew will make sure you're having a good time. [/ QUOTE ] Vinnie's not running it any more? I thought he did, but I'm usually wrong. This was in mid-July. Very friendly room with very soft games. The worst thing about getting to your room in the Garden or Tower is getting to your room. You have to drag your bags through the casino, up the elevator (or escalator) one floor, through the long hall with all the kiosk shops, then around a bunch more machines and turn left to the elevator. I think they should have check-in nearer the rooms, but since there's so many wings to the place it prolly wouldn't work. Also going into the place you need to drag your bags up a few stairs, pull open the door that wants to close on your bag and then drag it up a few more stairs to the check-in desk. I'm an old fart and I really don't want the exercise thanks. But it's pretty inexpensive. But getting back to the poker room, there's usually just one table running, sometimes two. I did see three tables running a couple of years ago, but not this past year. I don't know if she's still there, but there was a tall leggy blonde waitress with glasses who everybody called "Princess" who just brought whatever you were drinking before on the way back to get more drink orders. Of course she stood there waiting for her tip and never left until she got it. Her service was terriffic though and why wouldn't you give her a buck anyway? |

[/ QUOTE ] That's my girlfriends old high school friend, her name is Kristen. She is the best server there. However she's been working the midnight to whatever AM shift. At least she was a couple of weeks ago. Tip her and your drink will never go empty. Hell she was bringing me 3 at a time. She brought me a shot, a redbull and vodka and a beer each trip. Didn't ask once, she just did. |

Whoever the young, bigger black dealer was, he was awesome. Very friendly at all tables, no matter how few there were.

I thought he was very good natured and funny. Maybe because he was fast talking (I take it he was from NY/NJ from his accent) and he was a little off-color with his humor. |
