[ QUOTE ]
What do you mean you don't do business over the phone? How do you do it? Smoke signals? Mr Johnson world leaders conduct business over the phone... [/ QUOTE ] Oooooo, I may just have to use that one next week. [ QUOTE ] Congrats on your success - the mortgage industry is a great industry to be in. Build up a base of very happy customers and you'll have referrals forever! [/ QUOTE ] I don't know if I am going to be doing this until retirement (in fact, I'm pretty certain that I'm not) as it looks like there is a cieling in it unless I own my own company (I really do have a natural ability for sales, so that prolly won't happen.) The plan right now is to do it for 5-10 years, and then switch over to real estate. I'm about to head off to bed, and since I can't view 2p2 at work, I'll check out this thread tomorrow evening to get back with people. Thanks for all of the well wishes. |

If you don't mind me asking, who do you work for?
I've done some telephone sales and the most important thing, IMO, is never settle for small victories. If someone says, "I want to talk to my husband about this, can you call me back next Thursday?" the answer is not "Sure, what time is good for you?" because there's like a 70% chance you'll never speak with that person again. I had a lot of trouble getting over that hump myself. |

He looks a bit drunk and acts confused and quiet the whole time??? Like he has no idea what is going on?!? Yugoslav |

Good luck. I have a lot of experience in the industry and won't be a bit surprised if you are successful.
The ceiling in the industry is huge. My last boss made something like $3 million in commissions in his last year as a loan officer. You can move up by selling bigger loans - commercial, multifamily, or higher priced areas. Mortgage brokers often have other real estate investment opportunities as well, but I'd recommend you be patient and wait until you run good over a decent sample before you try to move up. |

I'm happy for ya, but remember, the same demens that were in school and poker are there too. When it stops being exciting and starts being rutine remember to work at staying focused and motivated. You have a pretty good grasp of what your challanges are, so watch out for em and work past em and you'll be fine
