RHCP pretty good choice, though their early stuff (a lot of which was great) keeps them from being a top contender here because it was too funky. |

Styx Yeah...that's it. No one is better than Styx and Heart! They both wrote some of the greatest albums of all-time and wrote some of those most kick-arse songs ever! Styx and Heart are the best, baby! Two bands who never wrote crappy filler songs just to fill their albums...they just rocked it! |

Elvis Costello and the Attractions.. not some of the later albums, but This Year's Model beats everything. Get Happy!, Armed Forces, and Trust fit the bill nicely as well (trust might be borderline).
