Muhammad Ali > Tiger Woods

For years it was definitely Ali, but I don't know if that still true. I wouldn't be suprised if it was now Woods.

jesus? are you serious? can we exclude people who nobody even knows what they might have looked like? the idea of including jesus is even more retarded because the image that most people associate with his name is clearly not even close to what he might have looked like if he did exist.

including jesus makes as much sense as including santa.

[/ QUOTE ]

I did include Santa, and also said we should have one for real and one for fictional, by which you can include Jesusif you wish.

[/ QUOTE ]

Except Santa isn't fictional. The Jesus we know today has about as much common with the original Jesus as Santa has got to do with Saint Nicholas.

Op has named possibly the best ones but I'll throw in the following:

Kim Jong Ill, Saddam Hussain, Bill Clinton, Nelson Mandella.

It probably comes back to Bush V Osama.

I think golf is virtual non-entity in many parts of the world.

Every country has boxing and soccer.

At this point David Beckham is probably more famous world wide than Tiger Woods is.

Yeah, Beckham's a good shout. The only place where he's not as massively famous as he is everywhere else is the US.

Arnold Schwarzenegger?
