Neteller just called me back and he did talk to his contact at ACR. They explained to him that they are having technical problems but expect to be up very soon. We shall see, I'll update with any info.

Default GOOD CHANCE WE ARE GETTING SCAMMED

Yes, the web site down! Yes, the downloaded version log in is down! They say they are doing software update... BUT WHY IS THE PHONE NUMBER DOWN.

I think that there is at least a good possibility that the site just pick up and left. This is happening with many of their sites like www.pokershootout.com www.deltapoker.com

I smell a scam!!!

lets not panic

due to a legal problem in the US betcris/ACR are having some issues with their ISP , since both phone and website run through the internet that is why both are down

currently they are working on re-routing the traffic but it will take some time for the change to have global effect

ACR/betcris is not the only company affected, other gaming sites are having the same problems

I talked to an ACR support rep yesterday morning and found out that several players were cashing out from a few days prior and that their requests were stacking up. I had recently deposited $500 with their site, because a sales rep had contacted me personally to offer me a bonus. They may have a funding issue problem. They claim to have technical problems currently, but I am starting to get more anxious about the return of my $$$. Even their BetCRIS.com site is experiencing contact difficulties, and their support phone numbers for their sports gambling operation is generating a busy signal. I spoke to a support rep at PokerPages.com who was living in Central Europe, because ACR advertises on their site's homepage. He was very defensive about their connection as in business relationship to this site, because they don't want to bear any responsibility for this. He would not even help, except to try to distance from any potential liability. I am certainly concerned about how this has been developing.

if you want (but you will have to shell $) you can call the non free support line, this is a regular landline (by that I mean that it doesnt run via voice over IP and it rings in Costa Rica, it is an international call so beware that it will cost!)

011- 506 210 7820

Your money is safe, this is a tech/business problem

So Wolfie,

I appreciate your response, but did you call this number yourself? What exactly is a business/tech problem? I would appreciate a better explanation.

Remember the recent sportsbook arrests?

They shut down a Florida ISP/host, Digital Solutions, as part of that. They provided hosting and phone services. A lot of Costa Rica-based companies, including BetCris (ACR owner) used them and are therefore having problems until things are rerouted. The Online Wire is covering it.

The main hosting company for BetCRIS and a large contigent of other sportsbetting operations was taken off-line yesterday by NY/US authorities because of the huge arrest they made. They are alleging that the hosting company is complicit in the crime those people were committing, since that operation was being run from US soil in direction violation of the Wire Act.

Since nearly all sites of this type run their entire communications system through their main network hookup (voice over IP), if that main link is down, it takes out everything - websites, email, and the phone connections.

BetCRIS, from what I understand, already has moved their servers to a new hosting company, but it may take up to 48 hours for the new DNS information to propogate to the Internet. BetCRIS is the owners of ACR, so I don't think this is cashflow or 'cut and run' situation at all. BetCRIS is a VERY reliable sportsbook operation.

I havent called myself but I am in Costa Rica and have worked in the industry (egaming that is) for 8 years. My brother works at Americas Cardroom

If you want more details here is a link, prolexic (one of the companies there) provides services for a large number of companies, among them a few gaming sites

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/us/A...mp;oref=slogin

or here

http://www.queensda.org/Press%20Rele...1-15-2006b.pdf

since prolexic is probably not going to provide the service anymore, it takes a bit of time while rerouting everything in a different way
