I did a lot of work based on Homer's posts on variance in building a variance calculator so I could actually see the signal to noise ratio based on SD/100, win rates, and total hands played. He has always been an asset to 2+2.

Thanks Homer.

Wow is Homer gone.... so hard to keep track of everyone. I never read his bankroll building post, but it must have helped many stay afloat for a while.

[/ QUOTE ]

He is alive and well in the Sports Betting forum and has a new web site up that deals with arbing sports.

Started with $50 in November of '04 and some basic weak-tight skills learned from prior limited B&M play and Free IRC poker. With help from that guide, I was up to $2500 by March '05, took a shot on the UB 10/20, and ran uberhot.
Now I'm just another TAP (wanna-be TAG) 4 tabling any good games I can find between 10/20 and 30/60 LHE.
If I could just find Homer's Guide for Weak Tight Limit Players trying to transition to NL... I'd be all set.
Thanks Homer

In fall of 2003, I ran the casino bonus trail as directed by Homer. This was before 'whoring' was widely known so there was no information available. He took the time to answer my 'noob' questions via PM. I made thousands of dollars under his guidance during this time.

Thanks HOMER.....

I'll second Spartacus on this one. I also ran this trail during the Fall of 2003 and Winter of 2004, back before any of the casino bonus whoring went big time. Both Homer and Spartacus helped me out big time, and I made 5 figures pretty quickly thanks to them.

2003 was before it was widely known?! I found out about casino whoring (back then it was called bonus hunting by us, bonus abusing by them) through the book "Beatwebcasinos.com" in 2nd half of 2000. Back then, it was amazingly good. . .WR's usually 6x-12x d+b (15x actually seemed high!), sometimes even less, all games were allowed at most places, and the few that didn't allow BJ generally allowed Bacarrat. And some had monthly bonuses with nearly as good of terms that you could do for almost a year without being banned! At one RTG group (this was before they had the shady licensee problems), I got almost WEEKLY bonus offers for up to 4-figure bonuses, and didn't get banned for over a year, with only small amounts of cover play. I actually had to quit and transition to poker in early 2003 because A) I had already hit almost every casino that existed, and been banned from most of the reload bonus providers, and B) the wagering requirements and games allowed were getting stricter (although still profitable, just not as sweet as I was used to).

Sorry if this post should have gone in BBV. . .
