I just came back from Ameristar 3/6 , and I was really surprised. This may have been the softest game I've ever ssen. Very little preflop raising; a lot of any ace play and chasing. Occasionally, the chasers would hit, but that is what keeps them chasing.

Sounds like the standard 3/6 game in every B&M casino on the Planet.

I had a similar experience at Harrah's here in KC a few weeks ago. Did I just stumble into a couple of honeypots, or are the BM games that soft? I've seen tougher play at Party .5/1.

Fairly typical.

I found this thread when searching for Ameristar KC threads, so I guess I am going to bump it.

I was thinking about heading to KC this weekend and going to Ameristar because the brutal ( ) 4/8 game at Harrah's Prairie Band Casino just can't contain me anymore. I was looking to see if Ameristar had 10/20 because I only have about $500 at my disposal right now to play with. I would feel comfortable playing 10/20 with 500, but would I still be alright buying in with that at 15/30, because it seems from this thread that is what game they have. Any info is appreciated.

I haven't played live for a few months so my info may be outdated but for the past couple years I have not known of any game that has regularly run that is bigger than 4/8 but smaller than 15/30. I did see 5/10 at Harrah's exactly once.

Sometimes Ameristar will run 8/16 limit when the jackpot is big becuase all game under 10/20 qualify for the bad beat jackpot, call them and ask if that is happening

Also sometimes they have a 10/20 game on Fridays, its most often a HOE game and never straight HE to my knowledge

Someday soon I will write a comprehensive Missouri poker tread, hopefully by end of month, including KC and STL
