Obviously the bill is going to have a huge impact on the major sites' revenue stream for the short term and perhaps much longer.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think that is at all obvious except for the sites that have chosen to prohibit US players and quite frankly the other sites will likely take up the slack.

In terms of it turning to shadier elements once the law is in effect, I think it's a good comparison.

[/ QUOTE ]

what would you compare it to

[/ QUOTE ]

Wasn't prohibition an ammendment to the constitution?? Not just your everyday new law thats passed.

That came to an end since we love our booze and we sure as hell love our poker too.

Obviously the bill is going to have a huge impact on the major sites' revenue stream for the short term and perhaps much longer. But I'm wondering if pro players will really be as impacted as we think. People have been making a living at poker since Doyle's days of getting raided by the feds or robbed by mobsters. Certainly it won't be laid out for us on silver platter as much. But to resourceful players - a good living may still be out there - even in the near term.

I especially like Nate's prediction of "crazy" bonuses in the next few weeks.
