Don't listen to these idiots. Before I saw what you had I immediatly put villian on a blind steal. Gotta defend your blinds. Nice play.

[/ QUOTE ] d00ds, z0mgz. when i'm utg+1, I raize 32o lololol, cuz I know I can steal the n00bies blinds. fishies are so bad lololol Seriously. This is terrible advice. OP, I would never try this at a 6.50. Although, this is probably standard at a $530 if I'm to believe Degen's posts... |

To pull off stuff like this, a lot of things need to be in place. You have to know the UTG+1 player as someone who can actually fold a good hand in this situation and someone who can steal from any position. UTG+1 must see you as a solid TAG who doesn't fool around. This is early in a low stakes game so none of this applies yet, if ever.
As well, at this level there is a wide range of hands this guy is likely to push with given that flop. While the original PF reraise was iffy, you really wanted a fold from villain. And then, if there is a call, you want something on the flop to work with, i.e. something that hit your hand and likely didn't hit his. I would check/fold this flop and make a note to myself to slow down until the blinds say you must speed up. There is a small possibility you might have something if you check the flop and UTG+1 checks the flop behind you. But since it is early and you have no read, you can't tell if that's weakness or slowplay. If you really want to beat a $6+.50 SnG, you need to slow down for at least the first two levels. Play only good hands, build up your stack a bit, observe the other players as they knock each other out, and then later on put the pedal to the metal against the guys you have a good read on. |
