Since all gambling results should have variance - I can imagine that the first time when playing a gambling game, even as a losing proposition, it is pretty natural for at some time early on to have profit (because of the swings) but as time passes this gets less and less probable for a -EV player/game.

I'd guess that this plausible variance profit slowly dwindling into losses away as statistics chews along is probably 99% of the reason behind 'rigged' theories.

The beats are the same live. I watched a guy play every hand for 2 hours and make $300 at 2/4 and bounce.

I have to be honest arguments that online poker is rigged are ridiculous. Anyone could parse the numbers and see if things were happening where they shouldn't and then the site would be vulnerable to litigation because the EULA guarantees a fair random number generator.
