From an interview with Farha:

[ QUOTE ]
That’s a situation where you got unlucky. Let’s talk about one where you got lucky. You were on High Stakes Poker…

Farha: (Laughs) I know what you’re going to say.
Before we get to that hand against Barry Greenstein, tell me what was different about a televised cash game.
First, I think about myself. I don’t want to lose on TV. I’ll look bad. So if I think that way, that means everybody’s thinking the same way. Now I thought, Maybe I’ll play a lot looser, as usual, on TV, show them how loose I am, and I know I’m going to outplay all of them. Because they’re playing to win, and not to lose. I played looser and bluffed a lot and outplayed them. I used psychology. I was in their minds, thinking, They’re not going to play these hands. On the contrary, I was gambling. I was playing below the belt.
Let me tell you what happened on the last hand, when I beat Barry’s pocket aces with pocket kings. I think Barry cost himself that hand. About two hours before that, I saw Barry and Doyle Brunson playing a hand. Doyle had aces and Barry had pocket queens. Doyle raises, Barry moved all in. Two hours later, I sit down. I try to see who’s winning and losing, and Barry says, “Well, I’m losing $700,000.” So I figured, all night long, Barry’s going to be gambling here. He’s going to be playing aggressively to get his money back.
Now, they announce the last hand. I have pocket kings. Barry raises, made it $5,000 or something. I counted my money, I’m winning $100,000. I say, Well, I gotta raise. I gotta play this. So I raise, I make it like $12,500 or so. Barry raises to $50,000. I think to myself, This is a [censored] cooler, it’s unbelievable! The last hand, I don’t want to go broke, and Barry has, like, exactly the same amount of chips as me. I kept thinking, If I muck my hand, I’ll win 85 thou. That’s the right thing to do. It’s the last hand. Why would I risk everything when I’m winning on the day? I kept thinking—it took me maybe 10 minutes—then I remembered the hand he played against Doyle. I said, either Barry has queens or he has aces. And Barry, if he had queens, he would make the same move, because he’s losing a lot. And Barry knows I play so aggressive, maybe Sammy is gambling as usual. The right thing is to muck them, but I’m a gambler. I put him all in. Of course, he calls.
So they open the flop and a king hits the board. I don’t react. On TV, I don’t know, they edit it so it looks like I’m jumping around. I never reacted. They edited that! It’s reality television. They can do a lot with reality

Hmmm. Very nice. Nicer to cite a source though.

If Barry and Sam are saying it didn't happen then um, uh.

Is Sammy a moron?
How the hell did Barry "cost" himself that hand?
He made a great overbet, making it look like his range is much wider than AA (especially since he played QQ that way before vs Doyle and he was stuck) and Sammy took the bait and went allin.
I know, that if Sammy folds, Barry doesn't lose the hand, but come on, you can't say, a person "costs" himself the hand by getting all his money in vs an underpair.

Sorry for the bump, got the link to this thread from here
