It would be tough as hell.
$10k vegetarian, $40k vegan. Basically I feel like I could never go out to dinner with anyone because my will power sucks. |

Meh, I would take a job being a vegan in exchange for a solid pay hike. I could improve my health in the process and I wouldn't have to go to work. 50k sounds about right. Probably do vegetarian for 10k.

Nutrient wise it being equal or better than current diet then:
1) Restaurant vegan options don't seem aplenty and could be affect healthiness of such a diet. Learning to cook a proper vegan diet would be quite time consuming, tons of additional grocery shopping, and tons of additional time in dinner preparations. So it would have to at least $50,000, enough to warrant the time spent. 2) Hypothetically if I had a cook to do all the shopping, prep work (ie. possibly a spouse or gf or heck hypothetical right a personal chef) then this number would drop to 10,000. |

The number depends a lot on if yeast are considered animals, a lack of beer would be what would jack the number way up.

[ QUOTE ]
Veganism is a philosophy and lifestyle that avoids using animals and animal products for food, clothing and other purposes. In practice, a vegan (an adherent to veganism) commits to the abstention from consumption or use of all animal products, including meat, fish, poultry, honey, eggs and dairy products, as well as articles made of fur, wool, bone, leather, feathers, pearls, mother of pearl, coral, and other materials of animal origin. Many vegans also avoid products that have been tested on animals. [/ QUOTE ] |
