Travesy,

What is your range for shoving over here?

I obviously have a problem in that I usually fold in these spots so help me fix it!

im not travesty, but if you are up against a tight villain and not much FE, im probably on a 99/TT+, AQ+

A player opening in the CO does not necessarily rep huge strength. AQo is not even a thought process for me, its pretty much an auto-shove with the CO opening the pot. But, w/ hands such as AJ, ATs, 66+ it gets a little closer and really depends on villain. You do have FE, but with good hands like AQ, you are shoving more for pure value.

AMT,

Thanks! Hoping to hear from a range of posters on this...

I think discussing what YOUR range is in a given spot is actully more important than people telling the OP whether they made a bad push/fold etc.

So what if AQo here is an obvious shove...what else should he be shoving? What is an easy fold?

Ok...thats the end of my little rant.

Thanks again,
Scrilla

see above after thinking about it my range might be a bit tight but not necessarily against a very TAG villain. i think in the 77-99 and ATs/AJ range its very very read dependent on the villain...the TT+, AQ+ are virtually always pushes here though.

I really never give calling/shoving ranges specifically. MAINLY, b/c everyone plays at diff levels and against diff opponents and I feel that those factors matter significantly in the decision-making process. Ex. I have never palyed an 11, so I really cant say exactly what the best calling/shoving range is b/c I dont know how many decent/good plyrs as opposed to total donks you are playing with. As you move up in stakes this plyr ratio will steadily morph into a top heavy decent/good plyr mix, and so will youre ranges to accomodate. Maybe this is all understood, maybe it will help a bit.

I would push this as I do not think CO raising range is that tight here.

A Fold is not bad either given you have a player to your left who likes to fold his big blind which you can take advantage of when the blinds go up.
