There are lots of ways to do this. You could also download and modify their web page, and write a javascript with a loop to keep submitting (if you target the form to a different window, this works, at least in IE). I certainly hope the idiots that designed the "security" for the web promotion aren't the same people in charge of security for the poker site. You could also do it with wget, a perl script or c program using sockets, or even a shell script using telnet. Curl is probably the easiest.

DigitalWaffle did not win via self-voting. Digitalwaffle won because he made a funny video and had the support of all the goons at SomethingAwful that liked his video and voted for him zealously.

Digitalwaffle is from SA, which is where Bill Fillmaff originated. So if anyone's deserves to win this, it's one of them. The character of Fillmaff, the Filmaff video series, and the Bill vs. Phil promotion have SA written all over them.

Sorry that you didn't win and you're upset.

dude are you a moron??

did you read ops post at all?

He receieved a phone call from the company that was hosting the contest and they even said that the two guys were cheating? Read post before bashing please

On another note this totaly sucks and I hope op that you recieve some sort of apology or something at the min.

'I finally got ahold of a guy through YouTube's(site where the videos were uploaded to) messaging service that worked at Loudvision Marketing(agency that provides marketing to UB) and he gave me his direct email address at Loudvision. I sent him the same message I sent to UB support and he ended up calling me on the phone that night. He ADMITTED that there was a mistake in the script that they did not catch during in-house testing that allowed more then 1 vote per PC using this exploit(which could have prevented if someone from UB got back to me when I had tried contacting them several times in the 2 weeks prior). He also ADMITTED that DIGITALWAFFLE(winner of the contest) and HULL16 had indeed cheated and racked up their own vote count.'

No, I read it all. He talked to a marketing guy through Youtube who was affiliated with a 3rd party marketing firm that worked on marketing for UB. The firm, not necessarily him. Regardless, marketing does not equal coding or debugging.

A random marketing guy who might have never even worked on the project and CERTAINLY is no coding/security expert for the voting site is certainly <u>not</u> the same thing as 'He receieved a phone call from the company that was hosting the contest and they even said that the two guys were cheating?'.

Either the marketing guy is a total moron for making assertive statements about 'mistakes in the script' and 'exploits' (even though he works in marketing) or the OP is confused/exaggerating.

Do you see why?

Let's not start making [censored] up just because "he's your boy".

I said I spoke with the guy through YouTube's MESSAGING SERVICE . He had nothing to do with YouTube nor was he a third party.

Do you even know how marketing works before you continue your self-righteous tirade? This marketing agency IS the promotion. A marketing agency says to UB "here is our idea"...UB turns to Phil and says "here is marketing firms idea, what do you think"...Phil says to UB "sure, sounds great, let's do it"...UB says to marketing agency "Ok, Phil says it's a go, let's run with it"...marketing agency says "Great, we won't let you down and run a promotion that is 100% our baby, but not very legit and make you look bad". The only thing UB has to do with it is their name, but yet because it's their name they also have final say in what's going on and can intervene so they don't end up getting a bad rap.

I hate to do this as, to me, it really violates a privacy issue, but here is a direct quote from "unnamed marketing dude" via an email...

"Hi Guanaco,

Sorry for the late reply as I don't often check the inbox on YouTube, but my name is "unnamed marketing dude" and if I could help you out I will.

I put together the Bill vs. Phil promotion as well as the site itself, so I should be able to answer any question you throw at me.

Let me know, and thanks again for your submission!

Cheers,

"unnamed marketing dude""

We then had a phone conversation that lasted roughly 25-30 minutes where he told me he screwed up with the script and didn't block the IP addresses, just the PC itself by placing the cookie.

To further my point, the guy even changed the text on the voting web page to read, at different times, that "cheating is for donkey's" and "the final votes are in and we are tallying them to see who the winner is. You may be saying to yourself, "What I see the numbers right here?", but alas cheating was involved so we are still doing the number crunching and it's anyone's race." Too bad I didn't take screenshots of the page as it said different things.

Also, anyone that was following along could see at one point that DIGITALWAFFLE's vote count had been over 2000 at one time and HULL16's vote count over 2200. You can see for yourself the final tally after the "unnamed marketing guy" ran his lame "10 second script" at http://billvsphil.com/your-videos.php

I think the other 3 of us had like 40 total votes taken away from us put together and 30 of them was most likely my testing to make sure I knew what I was talking about before I contacted someone.

Oh, I see...he had goons do the cheating for him you say? I guess this is the "it's about who you know, not what you can do" scenario? Congrats to Bill Filmaff and everyone at SA then for getting your boy the win? Scumbags!

Everyone else, thank you very much for your support in this thread. I'm doing all I can to get an answer from someone at UB or Phil himself. If you happen to see him while you're in Vegas for the rest of the WSOP, please feel free to pass this thread on to him.

I have also received a PM from someone saying they stopped playing at UB because something similar happened to them during another promotion and they got the same "Thank you, we'll pass it on" type of email and nothing more.

I will let everyone here know if/when I do hear from someone. I'm sure you guys are as concerned as I, beings alot of us play at UB.
