you have to 3 bet the flop, when capped, id start c/c and fold ui on the river. (i believe someone already put this line out there, but the screen is blurry do to 42 hours of being awake, so i cant find a quote.)

I am not 3 betting that flop. Flush draw is going nowhere and a straight is going to cap even the losing end. you can hit your straight and still lose to flush draw. This is too dangerous.

In this situation I like the check fold on the turn b/c he either flopped the joint or hit the diamond draw on the turn with something like Ad7d etc. Even if he has a set or two pair you are drawing thin on the river and even by some miracle that you are ahead right now there are no so many redraws against you that you're going to have to dodge a ton of bullets. Which if you are PHIL then you should be ok b/c "Honey, I can dodge bullets, baby!"

3 betting is fine.
An legitmate alternative line to not 3 betting involves calling the raise with the intention of donking most turns and sometimes check raising. This is standard avoiding the free card play, mixing your opponent up, and not simple stuff you can memorize. The only cards I really think about check/folding are Ad and 7d. |
