Just the few numbers posted so far are sparodic and all over the place... no wonder they're having a hard time giving away the Nanos. Who the hell is gonna hunt someone down at the Rio for a bag when the range looks to be ~4000 numbers.

[/ QUOTE ] FYI, if you have n people post numbers in this thread and the range of numbers is m (e.g., m = 4000), then the likelihood that you'll get a match in this thread is approximately: 1-e^(-(m(m-1))/2n). So with about n=75 people or so posting their numbers and m=4000 possibilities, there's a fifty-fifty chance some pair will get their ipods. This analysis assumes that the numbers posted are uniformly distributed (if they are not, the probability of a collding pair goes up...) Good luck! ;-) |
