You know what is interesting about American Beauty. All three times it cuts from Annette Benning to Spacey after Spacey quits his job, a classic rock song plays.

Yeah it was:

American Woman when it cuts to Spacey driving in the car.
All Right Now by Free when it cuts from her, after she gets dumped by the Real Estate King, to him lifting weights.
I believe they have Dylan's version of Watchtower when she opens the door to the garage to find him lifting.

And The Who's "Seeker" plays when he begins his final day running down the street.

The top one Conan is praying to Crom and tells him to go to hell if he's not listening. The bottom one is the scene after he is rescued from the tree of woe and contemplates the truth to the answer of the riddle of steal.

There was this kid I grew up with; he was a couple of years older than me, and sort of looked up to me, you know. We did our first work together, worked our way out of the street. Things were good and we made the most of it. During prohibition, we ran molasses up to Canada and made a fortune; your father too. I guess as much as anyone, I loved him and trusted him.
