srry guess im still to stooopid and ignant, but i don't see how the patriot act has decimated the Constitution, nor do I hear any news about a national ID card, so that pretty much means I think your entire post is wrong

Hey dude, I wear my tinfoil hat shiney-side-out, but you can't start with the Patriot Act either. That one sounds extra tinfoily. Oil seizure is probably the best way to kick things off.

Ok guys ill explain it. Patriot act is easy as anything to prove because you can go right online and read it. You see what makes the patriot act so bad is the defintion they have used for a terrorist. Now you ask anyone what a terrorist is and theyll say its someone who wants to kill large amounts of people because of religious or idealogical beliefs right? Well under the patriot act it lists a terrorist as "Anyone who endangers human life in violation of state or federal law" which as you can well imagine can be used to a whole assortment of crimes, its very vague. Now if you unsure of what they can do to you if you found guilty of this its anything they want not limited to searching your home and tapping your phones with out your knowledge in addition to jailing you indefinitly without due process, in fact they do not have to tell your family where you are. Theres a whole host of other things of course (death penalty can be used, they dont need warrants, they can take all your possesions, no statute of limitations, lifetime parole)but that gives you a good idea I think. Really I hadnt read it in awhile but it sends shivers up my spine to just read what they can do. Its scary.

Guys when I explain this to people they say "Ok yea so what our goverment wouldnt do that" and that is about as dumb a thing as ive ever heard. We cannot let our government have this kind of power over us! The fact is they CAN do this to us, they can apply these draconian measures if they choose too. So speeding? You are endangering life. Get caught with a small amount of drugs, yep you guessed it endangered human life. It doesnt matter how stupid it sounds or how small of crimes these are, the simple truth is under the patriot act 1 and 2 the goverment can now do whatever they want to whoever they want perfectly legally as they see fit......

National ID hmmm maybe you havent heard of it because they passed it without even it making the news. Funny something this important doesnt even make the newspapers or headline news. It will become mandatory in 2008 I believe and it will be a crime for you not to have it on you at all times. Still with me good because heres the awful truth about it. For starters it will have a RFID chip(Radio Frequency Identification) that has a specific number unique to all citizens. Now these chips are activated when they are close to a reader. Which means that if they choose to put these readers all over our society they will be able TO TRACK US AT ALL TIMES. No joke this is not a joke people its fact. Second it will also have a biometric strip with all your vital info on it, not just age,height,weight but also criminal and medical history and who knows what else. Again go find the bill read it(of course they dont count on this because most people cant be bothered to read through these huge bills) but people have and they are letting everyone know what exactly is going on.

No it does not, and I do not want to make unsubstantiated claims so will just say its my opinion that whenever theres a terrorist act in any major country it seems strange to me that they are increasingly taking away our rights using legislation they have has ready for some time.

So the gvt knows where are you are. So what? What are you so afraid of? Do you think that when someone becomes a politician they are automatically evil and can't wait to opress their citizens. This is the problem with conspiracy theorists, they are too scared for no reason.

I understand what you're saying, and I've had people use this argument with me before. It doesn't matter whether they will or not. The fact that they can is a breach of your freedom, don't you think? Did you not flinch when they made GPS' manditory in all cell phones?

Do you think it is right for each citizen to be able to be tracked at all times? Forget about who would care where you are. Is that right?

The problem with most people is that they won't speak up about something unless it affects them directly. That obviously makes much of our goverment policy subject to becoming a very slippery slope...
