nick, you're also missing the point. The problem wasn't that players were aligned the same as the named roles (becuase they weren't)
the problem was announcing what name you received

I mean obviously it wasn't smart of Hornacek to post an exploitable game, but one of you could have posted going "this game is exploitable, nobody post their role" and then there's no info to be gained from it (apart from that you are probably villager for posting that, which would have been bad enough, but these things happen in WW games). instead you tried to exploit it to "win". As a result this game, which originally I signed up for a start time of like midnight local time, is now starting at 2am.

[/ QUOTE ] Because the extra information is to increase enjoyment of the game, not provide one team an easy way to win (thus making the game pointless). We have played numerous games with this type of set-up, and everyone acknowledged that the pm'd characters could not be discussed. I suppose a certain level of fair-play or maturity is required to appreciate what I am saying, I hope you possess one or both.

again, using the info unfairly would have been to keep quiet about it and use it to find wolves
by putting it out there ASAP, we stopped that from happening; if we don't announce names and what happened, then someone else may use it during the game and i'd rather have a game where there are no outside clues it was never about 'winning' with that strategy
