Why do people spend so much time and money on cars?

I agree with you 99%. The only cars worth putting cash into are classics. I thought I read an article awhile back that said classic cars purchased years ago were one of the best performing investments.

there are many other people compulsive about other things like those guys who buy $100 jugs of protein powder instead of eating regular food, or run 10 miles a day religously, or people who vaccum the rug 4 times a day.
