You dont want to wait until June 1st to try this? The MTT Challenge thing could be an outlier on this idea.

I would like to wait till June, however, I think the MTT Team Challenge and Sweat threads are basically one in the same. I could pin threads too for that.

I like the sweat and official threads but I also like the idea of separating them. I would visit both forums.

As one of the MTT newbs who's made a sweat thread and not much else, I have an idea.

IIRC, you recently instituted a rule change that prohibited us from making two FT sweat threads per day on multi-table SNG's. If someone FT's one of those and there's already a thread devoted to it, then they're supposed to bump that thread with their sweat request.

Well, how about if we institute that rule for all FT sweat threads? If you're the first person to FT a tourney on, say, Party, you create a thread called "PARTY SWEAT THREAD MM/DD/YY" and everyone else who FT's at Party that day has to post to that thread. Ditto for the other major sites, let's say Stars and Full Tilt, and then the rest of them can be lumped into a miscellaneous thread.

I like sweat threads. I want to see the good players here in this forum at their FT's so I can emulate them, and I also want them in my corner the next time I'm in the big money. I don't want to have to use a new forum just to look up sweat threads. If it's clutter you're concerned about, I'd suggest a moratorium on sweat threads if the buy-in is less than $20 (not including rebuys), or a moratorium on "official" threads unless the prize pool is at least $100K.

I think there can be a split between online MTT's and all B&M MTT's. The difference between the necessary strategies is so great that I think we can carve out two separate forums for them. Or, *gulp*, we can separate hand analysis threads and general strategy threads.

But don't split off sweat threads. Please.

I would prefer there be a sweat forum where I can notify everyone of my making it to the final table of a $4.00 180 player sit n go, instead of everyone having to wade through a bunch of strategy posts to find out if I made it.

Yes, because I'm sure when someone finals the $1M, he wants to fight the space with random newbie who managed to FT a 18 man $3 turbo SnG.

Me too. But they distract too much, and it spills over into the other threads. 'Serious' threads is hard to maintain at a 'serious' status when people are in a not so serious mind-set.
Just look at the number of O/T posts we get in MTT nowadays. I think the blame can be put on sweat threads and the Jurollo forum.

But as I said, I like both the Jurollo forum and the sweat threads as they're a great way of creating and maintaining a 2p2 culture, but sadly; today that's at the expense of the actual usefulness of the MTT forum.

If you really like the sweat threads, and think they're the most important part of MTT; wouldn't you want it split off so you could browse them on a regular basis; and sometimes just visit the 'real' MTT forum to see the strategy posts there.
